Rare coins expected to fetch more than $1m

One of the coins is a "Hannibal Head" holey dollar, ysl shoes created in New South Wales in 1813 from a silver dollar minted in Peru.

Auctioneer Warren Joel is expecting some fast and furious bidding.

"There's always the excitement of the auction. [But] from an auctioneer's point of view, we really don't want people getting too carried away," he said.

Belinda Downie from Coinworks says the holey dollar has an interesting story.

"This coin was actually struck from another coin," she said.
